#2 Lifelong Learning

Thank you to the people who organized this program. I think it's a great idea!

The lifelong learning presentation online was pretty good. It's important to be reminded of the different ways that people can learn and try to apply to that to your work in the library. People can learn from traditional tools such as books and media, but also from conversations that they have with you and other library customers. Knowing that you are helping someone to learn something new helps to make repetitive tasks like showing people how to print documents or sign up for email seem less like chores.

The hardest of the 7 1/2 habits for me is to begin with the end in mind. I sometimes don't realize the amount of time and energy that will go into a project before I commit to it. The advice of thinking about the end of a problem and tackling it is steps is good.

The easiest habit for me is to view problems as challenges. I think this is basically another way of saying to put a positive spin on things.
